Help Stop Al Gore and his Climate Alarmists!
Petition Opposing Climate Alarmism
Total signers: 178,604
Your Sponsor: Grassfire.org
The Issue: Despite defeating the Lieberman-Warner Carbon Tax and what
would have been the largest tax increase in our nation’s
history, the Climate Alarmist agenda is not going away. In fact,
President Bush and the three presidential candidates are all
pushing the CO2 Climate Crisis thesis.
The question isn’t if Congress comes back with a Carbon Tax
bill, but when.
All signs point to Climate Alarmists continuing to push
their radical “save the earth” agenda, and eco-corporations and
special interests pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into
yet another massive effort to create the largest expansion of
government power in our nation’s history. All this while a
growing body of scientific evidence is showing that man-made
global warming is not a crisis at all! Read Grassfire’s backgrounder on Climate Alarmism.

Citizen Petition To Stop Al
Gore Tax & Climate Alarmism
Having played a large role in the defeat
of the Carbon Tax bill, Grassfire.org has launched a National
Petition opposing the Climate Alarmist agenda, and any intrusive
government legislation like Lieberman-Warner that failed to
affect the climate in any measurable way. We want to rally
250,000 petitions to be delivered when the next attempt is made
to pass a similar Carbon Tax bill.
The Petition States:
By my signature
below I hereby join the growing number of scientists
and informed citizens deeply concerned by the dire
predictions and proposed solutions of Climate
Alarmists.
Fears that mankind has created a ‘planetary
emergency’ are scientifically unfounded, and as such
the doomsday predictions of Climate Alarmists are
irresponsible and dangerous. Also, the solutions
proposed by Climate Alarmists would have a harmful
and possibly devastating impact on our economy,
without any detectable climatic impact let alone
benefit.
Given that "catastrophic Man-made global warming" is
the sole justification, I oppose U.S. participation
in the Kyoto treaty or any such successor agreement,
mandatory domestic limits on CO2, and any federal or
state carbon "tax” or “cap-and-trade” system.
Finally, any legislation containing mandatory
provisions in the name of "climate change" must
require demonstration, through cost-benefit or
similar analysis, that its provisions would produce
quantifiable climate benefit.
It is time to stop promoting dangerous Climate
Alarmism and instead engage a free and open debate
on environmental issues without the anti-scientific,
anti-democratic intimidation tactics that
increasingly accompany climate alarmism.
