Grassroots pressure played a huge role in getting House democrats to allow the drilling ban to expire. But despite this victory, the American people still don’t have a REAL energy plan—a truly comprehensive plan brings us closer to energy independence.

Until the drilling ban is permanently lifted, and a true, comprehensive energy plan is in place, Grassfire will continue building momentum and increasing grassroots pressure

The Petition States:

As a concerned citizen, I am outraged that Congress is dragging its feet on developing a true, comprehensive energy plan. I am signing this Citizen Petition calling on Congress to permanently lift the federal moratorium on offshore drilling in the Outer Continental Shelf while aggressively pursuing legislation for energy independence that centers on: (check all that apply)

	NO ANWR BAN:	Removing restrictions to exploration and production in currently prohibited areas in Northern Alaska such as ANWR
	OIL AND SHALE:	Lifting barriers to Oil Shale exploration and production.
	NATURAL GAS:	Expand exploration and production of America’s vast natural gas resource and use this resource to reduce our foreign dependence.
	NUCLEAR:	Significantly expanding our domestic nuclear energy capacity by building more nuclear power plants.
	MORE REFINING:	Expanding our domestic refining capability, thereby freeing the U.S. to import less refined energy product.
