Amnesty Stripped From
Iraq Spending Bill!
Victory For Grassroots Americans
Grassfire has
confirmed that ALL amnesty language has been stripped from the Iraq
Supplemental Spending Bill – the result of tens of thousands of
phone calls, faxes and fast action by a number of key Senators who
sent a letter to Majority Leader Harry Reid demanding the language
be dropped.
This happened as a direct result of grassroots actions. Thank you!
The Letter from Sen. Jim Inhofe’s office reads:
Dear Majority Leader Reid:
We write to express disappointment that the Senate Appropriations
Committee chose to include in the War Supplemental more than 100
pages of immigration language that would grant legal status to more
than one million illegal alien agricultural workers and their
families. We urge you to remove these controversial provisions from
the bill so we can enact essential funding for our troops without
delay. If these provisions remain in the bill, you can expect a
vigorous debate on immigration policy.
The letter was
signed by 10 Senators, their names and contact information are below
if you would like to call and thank them for their efforts:

While this
amnesty attempt has been thwarted, the double-layered border fence
that was promised to us to help secure our borders is not being
built. Grassfire is headed to Capitol Hill for a national press
conference on this issue, and we want to present at least 250,000
petitions from citizens to key House leadership demanding the fence
be built as promised! If you haven’t yet signed this important
petition, you can do so now simply by
clicking here.
If you would
like to send faxes to key members of the House urging them to
support legislation that would restore the original double-layered
fence mandates, you can do so by
clicking here.
