FAQ
+ + What is a Podcast?
A Podcast is simply another way for you to get the information you want delivered to you. Using a computer protocal called RSS (really simple syndication), a podcast distributes audio files directly to your computer that you can enjoy at your leisure. Each time Grassfire posts a new audio file on our Podcast, that file will be automatically downloaded to your computer. You can then listen to the audio file at a time convenient to you.
+ + Do I need to have an IPod?
No. If you have a computer connected to the Internet, then you can access Grassfire’s Podcast. The name “podcast” was coined because many people use an IPod or another .mp3 player to listen to podcasts, but an IPod is not required. You can listen to Grassfire’s audio reports any time you want on your computer. If you have an IPod device, you then have the added advantage of taking the Grassfire audio reports with you.
+ + Is there any cost?
No. Podcasting is free. All you need to do is download the free ITunes player (for PC or Mac), subscribe to Grassfire’s podcast, and enjoy!
+ + What will I be getting?
Each time Grassfire creates a new Audio Report, your computer will automatically download the .mp3 file and have it ready for you to listen to at your convenience. These Audio Reports are usually 4-6 minutes in length and provide our team members with background information on vital issues. Some, like our Strategy Briefings, are a bit longer -- 15 minutes.
When Grassfire posts “field reports” from Washington, D.C., as a Podcast subscriber, you will be the first to be notified.
+ + Do I need high-speed Internet access?
No. In fact, if you have dial-up, this is the best way to access audio files because your computer will automatically download the files in the background. You could even set your computer to download files overnight so you can listen to them in the morning. Podcastings is a great option for dial-up Internet users.
