George Bush on Abortion

Abortion Quotes———————————————

General: “My Administration encourages adoption and supports abstinence education, crisis pregnancy programs, parental notification laws, and other measures to help us continue to build a culture of life.” (1/16/04, Proclamation)

On partial-birth abortion: “America stands for liberty, for the

pursuit of happiness and for the unalienable right of life. And the most basic duty of government is to defend the life of the innocent. Every person, however frail or vulnerable, has a place and a purpose in this world.  Every person has a special dignity.  This right to life cannot be granted or denied by government, because it does not come from government, it comes from the Creator of life.” (11/5/03, White House)

General: “I will lead our nation toward a culture that values life – the life of the elderly and the sick, the life of the young, and the life of the unborn. I know good people disagree on this issue, but surely we can agree on ways to value life by promoting adoption and parental notification, and when Congress sends me a bill against partial-birth abortion, I will sign it into law.” (8/3/00, Republican National Convention)
